Shirley Smart Trio

Led by one of the UK’s most versatile and creative cellists, Shirley Smart, this trio combines influences from the overlapping worlds of jazz, Arabic, Turkish and North African music. Vibrant and inspiring melodies, grooves and expressive improvisation are brought thrillingly alive by Shirley, John Crawford on piano, and Demi Garcia Sabat on drums and percussion.
Shirley has worked with artists including Avishai Cohen, Omer Avital, Yasmin Levy, Mulatu Astatke, Neil Cowley, Robert Mitchell, Misha Mullov-Abbado, Nikki Yeoh and Alice Zawadzki, and Robert Mitchell.
