Roller Trio saxophonist/composer/arranger James Mainwaring returns with his own project, released last year on Discus records, and a vibrant and adventurous lineup, with Aby Vulliamy (viola, vocals), Michael Bardon (cello, double bass), Fergus Quill (double bass), Steve Hanley (drums), Chris Sharkey (electronics), and James on sax, vocals, synths, keyboards, and flutes.
Inspired by natural systems, and the impact of humans on these, their music is thoughtful and calming, restrained yet also unsettling, music with a message.
