Blue Jazz Quartet with Rivkala

These musicians have been playing together for many years and are immersed in jazz of the Blue Note era (mid-20th Century). For this gig they are introducing a new vocalist, Rivkala and new material – a fresh take on familiar songs.

Rivkala is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter based in Newcastle. Originally from Manchester, she was raised on a varied diet of soul, disco, musical theatre and indie-rock, but jazz was always a favourite flavour. In her debut with Blue Jazz Quartet, she says she’s excited to cut her teeth in the vibrant North East jazz scene.
