Blue Jazz Quartet with Rivkala

Swinging and grooving jazz with powerful vocalist

These musicians have been playing together for many years and are immersed in jazz of the Blue Note era (mid-20th Century). For this gig they are introducing a new vocalist, Rivkala, and a lot of new material including songs by Amy Winehouse, Beyonce, Britney Spears and David Bowie as well as classics from the Great American Songbook.

Rivkala is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter based in Newcastle. Originally from Manchester, she was raised on a varied diet of soul, disco, musical theatre and indie-rock, but jazz was always a favourite flavour. In her debut with Blue Jazz Quartet, she says she’s excited to cut her teeth in the vibrant North East jazz scene.
